Karan johar’s ”lust stories”
Netflix anthology “lust stories” is a web-film and sequel of BOMBAY TALKIES 2013 consists of four short film segments by India’s top directors Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee & Karan Johar co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala of RSVP and Ashi Dua of Flying Unicorn Entertainment.
Karan has captured the utmost Indian housewives bed stories in Lust stories which is quite a talk. Mostly though Women are uncultured to be uncomfortable most of the time. And to ignore their discomfort. The reason I particularly loved the segment of Karan Johor because he did unashamedly on his part and it is very true in fact.
Anurag said “Lust does not mean that people on screen having sex constantly or naked on screen”. Lust stories is about extramarital affair, premarital sex, women dominance and self-identity. It is the story about which women are either blamed or judged as bad girls if they openly talk about their lust. Why? Good girls don’t have lust. Women have lust too. But women are also known for hiding their lust, fantasy, yearnings though men openly talk about these in their groups. And this Web-film actually made people talk. I am happy about this. This is the next step to the coming change.
Lust stories is not only about lust relationships but many things are layered on that which also includes the most basic thing which is human relationships.
The funniest scene was 1:43:44 in web-film when Mother of one of the girl student came to principal complaining about how her daughter is reading these erotic novels and principal reads the first sentence from the same novel which is famous erotic novel LOLITA “Lolita the life of my life and fire of my loins what spelling mistake ” and then he cuts the word LOINS and writes LIONS in top of it. You will get more scenes on the movie which has the hidden meanings which is quite not understandable for most Indian audiences but young people will be laughing their asses off.
